It's Cold Out There - Have Your Winter Car Kit Ready

In Southern New Jersey, we've had a pretty mild winter so far - but for the past week and into the short term future we're going to be facing freezing temperatures.  With the cold temperatures, make sure you have a winter kit stored in your car in case of emergency. 

Your kit should contain:

  • Flashlights with extra batteries
  • First aid kit with pocket knife
  • Several blankets
  • Plastic bags (for sanitation)
  • Matches
  • Extra set of mittens, socks, and a wool cap
  • Small sack of sand for generating traction under wheels
  • Small shovel
  • Tool kit
  • Booster cables
  • Brightly colored cloth to use as flag

    • These items will help keep you warm, alert other motorists of your location and just make a scary situation easier to deal with.  Take care out there!
