Hartford Corners - Delran NJ

Welcome to the new Hartford Corners Shopping Center located in Delran NJ!

Hartford Corners, Delran

View Store Directory

Construction first began in late 2002 for this brand new shopping center located at Rt. 130 and Fairview Blvd.  For those familiar with the area, you may remember that The Greens at Delran once stood at this location.  In fact, if you Google it...many web sites still have The Greens in their directory.  I used to frequent The Greens regularly as a kid which had mini-golf, go karts and a driving range.

hartford cornersEven though it was a great place to visit, it eventually closed down and remained vacant for many years.  As part of the Rt. 130 revitalization effort, the intersection now has new life!  Anchored by retail giants such as Lowe's, Shop Rite & Staples, many business large and small now occupy the center.  Of course, with all new centers in Southern New Jersey, we also have a Starbucks and a Chick-Fil-A which I think now come standard!  View Store Directory

With this new shopping center, along with the revitalized Millside Plaza right down the street many new businesses are setting up shop in Delran.  With all the new attention Delran has gotten, it has also become a popular spot for homebuyers!

To learn more about Delran, please visit my previous posts.  In addition, feel free to visit our Delran Community Blog.  You can also take a short guided tour...

Swedes Run: Welcome Home to Delran NJ Neighborhoods

Welcome to the subdivision of Swedes Run located in Delran, NJ - part of Burlington County.  Swedes Run is located between Haines Mill Rd. & Bridgeboro Rd. which is convenient to Rt. 130 as well as I-295.

View Map (Satellite Hybrid)

Swedes Run is walking distance to Conrow Park, as well as Millbridge Elementary & Delran High which were both recently awarded the Blue Ribbon Lighthouse Award.  Literally minutes down Haines Mill Rd. you'll find the newly revamped Millside Plaza and right down Hartford Rd. you'll find Hartford Corners.  Both are virtually brand new with retail shopping, grocery & department stores.

There are roughly 250 homes in Swedes Run which were built in the mid 1970's.  Styles range from 3 bedroom ranchers to 4 bedroom colonials.  Some have since been expanded to 5 bedrooms.  I have lived there the past 6 years and can say it's a great neighborhood to live in.  It's quiet and the neighbors are all very friendly.  In fact, there are many younger families and my kids have made new friends up and down the street!

Post Closing Follow-Up

I recently was at a Buffini & Company workshop in Philadelphia, PA which was hosted by Rick Deluca.  During the workshop, the topic of Post Closing follow up was discussed and some ideas on how to make an impact were shared that I wanted to pass along for thoughts or comments.  These ideas are meant for immediate follow up (not the keeping in touch over several years type of follow up) which for some can be viewed as a closing gift.

  • If your clients are moving in from out of town, subscribe them for 6 months to the local newspaper.  Usually doesn't cost much and will help them get acquainted with their new community.
  • Arrange for 4 hours of a handyman.  When someone moves in, no matter how great the condition of the home may be in, everyone can use a handyman!  Make sure it's someone general enough who could address minor plumbing or electrical, but would be wiling to hang pictures!  Benefits you and the handyman as they will have someone who they can trust for future repairs.
  • If you know when moving day is, bring them lunch.  Just make sure you have enough for everyone helping out - you never know who may be a future client in the making.
  • If your clients are a couple, arrange to have dinner catered in the home for 4 people.  Instead of a gift certificate out to a restaurant, allow them to relax and enjoy dinner in their new home.  And the purpose of doing it for 4?  It allows your clients to invite some friends into their new home and you get some word of mouth advertising out of it!

So - has anyone tried any of these tips before?  If so, did it make an impression?  Do you have others you'd like to share?
