Extreme Makeover Home Edition airs South Jersey Episode

Welcome Home Marrero Family!!

If you missed it last night, the abc show Extreme Makeover Home Edition aired the episode of it's visit to Southern New Jersey over the summer.  Ty Pennington and the team were in Camden & Pennsauken late July/early August to help the Marrero family.

The journey actually started over a year ago when another show, 20/20 did a story on the poverty in Camden.  In the show, the life of Billy Joe Marrero was featured as he worked hard to get through school despite the daily struggles he faced living in Camden.  Several months later, The Extreme Makeover team showed up at the door ready to change their lives forever!  Thanks to J.S. Hovnanian & Sons, Urban Promise Ministries and many many more...the Marrero family has been able to start a new life in Pennsauken.

You can still watch the episode online at abc.com

The Courier Post newspaper has an online chronicle of the week long event including behind the scenes updates, photos and the Marrero family story.

Tips To Show Your Home This Season

Fall is here in Southern New Jersey and winter is quickly approaching.  If you're selling your home during this time of year, the weather and lack of daylight add some challenges.  Here are 10 tips to help keep your home show ready this season.  Remember, the key is to keep your home warm, inviting and above else...easy to show!

  • Make a good first impression - The entrance way is the first thing potential home buyers see when viewing your home.  Make that first impression count!  Make sure your front door and handle are nice and clean.  If the welcome mat is worn, replace it.  Make sure the walkway is free of debris, especially with the leaves starting to fall.
  • Clean the windows - A bright sunny day can reveal dirt and dust you may not have noticed in the windows.  Cleaning the windows will help brighten the house, as well as give an impression that the home is well maintained.
